Wax is made by Vinena Studio (vinena.studio), the trading name of Vinena Yazılım ve Tasarım Ltd. Şti. This page says what we collect and why.
The Mac app
The Mac app collects no analytics and has no account. It talks to your iPhone over the cable. It reaches the internet only to search the App Store for the apps you want to block (Apple's public search, with no account), to sign your profile, to check your license key with Polar and to check for updates.
Signing your profile
To sign a profile, the app sends the apps and websites you picked to our server. The server signs the profile and sends it back. We do not store or log that list.
Your license key
When you enter your key, and the first time Wax sets up an iPhone, the app sends Polar your license key, the iPhone's name and a one-way hash of the iPhone's id. Polar shows the name next to the key so you can tell your iPhones apart, and uses the hash to count the iPhones your key covers. The hash is salted and cannot be turned back into the id. The app never sends the iPhone's serial number or UDID.
Your iPhone
Your photos, messages and other data stay on your devices. Wax does not upload them.
This website
This site counts visits with OpenPanel, run on our own server. It sets no cookies. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you here (not the page) and clicks on the buy and download buttons and the support email link. From the request it reads your rough location (country, region and city), your browser, operating system and type of device. It keeps no name, email or other personal data. It uses your IP address to find your location and keeps only a one-way hash of it, with a salt that changes every day, to tell visits apart. The Mac app sends no analytics. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard request logs, such as IP addresses and pages loaded, to run and protect the site.
Payments
Polar handles payments as the seller of record. What you give Polar at checkout is covered by Polar's privacy policy.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
